Servicing your Cookware
When we receive your cookware, it is carefully measured and inspected before proceeding with the full treatment. We take pictures of the current look of the interior/exterior and provide them to you upon completion of the service for a Before & After comparison.
The Re-Tinning process includes:
- Removal of all of the old tin down to the pure copper;
- Mechanical removal of any of the remaining interior tarnish or signs of oxidation;
- Ensuring the handles are properly attached and have no wiggle room;
- Basic exterior cleaning.
We then send it off to our Master Tinner to apply a layer of pure, food grade tin using the Traditional (hand-wiped) technique.
Please Note: If you would like to give your cookware a brilliant lustre, please request the Clean & Polish service in addition to Re-Tinning. You will receive your cookware in like-new condition, shining all-around.
Clean & Polish service includes:
- Mechanical removal of any tarnish or signs of corrosion/oxidation on all exterior components;
- Color restoration;
- Mechanical Polish & Buff.
If you requested the Fix & Restore service, in addition to all of the above, it will also include:
- Shape restoration;
- Dent/scratch/nick repair;
- Handle re-attachment.
Finally, your cookware will be carefully packaged and returned to you, ready for many years of reliable service.
